WHITEWATER RESCUE TECHNICIAN
Designed for raft guides and private boaters, this 2 and 1/2 day river rescue course includes self rescue methods, shore based rescues, contact rescues, technical rope systems, and how to recognize and avoid river hazards. Learn techniques for dealing with the following situations: entrapments, pins, boat wraps and recoveries, swimmers, capsizes, and much more. The class emphasizes scenarios requiring fast, efficient rescues as well as more complex emergencies requiring team organization. No experience necessary. Prerequisites include being in good physical condition, a basic swimming ability and medical coverage. This course is certified through Rescue 3 International and good for 24 hours of continuing education for Montana EMTs. A manual, test, certificate of completion, patch, and I.D. card are included.


SWIFTWATER RESCUE TECHNICIAN - Unit 1
This three day river rescue class is N.F.P.A. compliant and is intended for firefighters, search and rescue personnel and other professional rescuers.This course is certified through Rescue 3 International and good for 24 hours of continuing education for Montana EMTs. A manual, test, certificate of completion, patch, and I.D. card are included.


WILDERNESS FIRST AID AND RIVER RESCUE CLASSES
Instructors from Aerie Backcountry Medicine (Aerie Backcountry Medicine) and Montana River Guides are offering unique two to three day classes that offer certifications in both Wilderness First Aid and Swiftwater Rescue. We integrate these two dynamic disciplines into a class that is information-packed, fast-paced, challenging and fun. We progress from a solid foundation of first aid and river rescue fundamentals into hands-on skills practice that culminates in a variety of rescue and medical scenarios on the river.
